An all-time classic primer on the foundations of meditation spoken plainly and simply. A must read for beginner’s.

The Basic Method of Meditation
by Ajahn Brahmavamso
A great primer to the foundations of meditation. This little 20 minute guide gives a good overview to meditation and also serves as a nice travelogue of the phases you may go through in your first few years of meditating.
